Magic of the Marsh
An interactive theatre hike, safe for the COVID-19 era.
About the Show
A jealous witch has stolen the Neverflower, throwing off the delicate balance of the marsh and causing magical creatures to appear. Do you have what it takes to restore nature’s cycle of growth and decay? Outwit the goblin, dance with the princess and soothe the beast of the tall grasses. Just watch out for fairies! A fun family adventure, appropriate for ages 5 and up.
What Is a Theatre Hike?
Audiences of 10 people begin walking at staggered start times, 15 minutes apart. Unlike a traditional play, the audience moves from scene to scene along the trail. By keeping groups small, viewers can enjoy live theatre while limiting their exposure to crowds.
Fountain Creek Nature Center (July 11 and 25) offers a scenic 0.7-mile hike that is extremely family-friendly. Strollers and small children can easily use the trail. Bear Creek Nature Center (July 18) has a more adventurous trail, with brief climbs and steps, that is still suitable for school-age children.
Audiences should complete the hike, pausing for each scene, in 1 hour.
Show Dates:
July 11, 2020 at Fountain Creek Nature Center
July 18, 2020 at Bear Creek Nature Center
July 25, 2020 at Fountain Creek Nature Center
The first hike starts at 10:00 a.m. New groups depart every 15 minutes until 1:45 p.m.
Social Distancing
For the safety of all participants, audience members over age 2 must wear a mask or facial covering during the entire hike.
By limiting group sizes, staggering arrival times, and providing extra masks and hand-washing stations, Theatre Across Borders hopes to ensure a safe and happy day for everyone. We will continue to monitor the latest recommendations from the governor’s office and the CDC.
